I'm gonna tell you about the girl with the poison skin
She was born the only daughter of an eccentric botanist
The one with the villa at the end of town
With those Godless gardens on the grounds
He grew poison plants under the guise of medicine
All just a ruse to continue his experiments
Of which his daughter was the grandest one
She was the reddest rose in a crown of thorns
You see, he was the victim of a terrible heartbreak
And he swore from then on that he would spare her from that fate
So in the garden is where she grew
Until them poisons were imbued
As the years went by, tales of her beauty, they did grow
As every man longed to see the blooming of her rose
But that's as close as they would get
Because the smallest kiss would sure mean death
So he just keeps her, with her sisters, Ivy and Mistletoe
And their kisses carve the names on the gravestones
Well, she done grew wild, as the teenage heart will do
But as the leaf that's starved from light, it soon will meet its doom
And so those shadows took her heart
Till the night only wished it were that dark
No longer could she bear to hide the sadness on her face
Well, this caused the father to see the error of his ways
And he said, "Oh my, what have I done?"
"What monster have I become?"
He begged his daughter, "Oh my darling, please forgive?"
Well, she looked him dead in the eye as she absolved him from his sin
And the two, they shared an embrace
And he died in that very place
It was there he was buried in a garden tomb
And when the spring rolled round it's where he was born anew
But now in a truer form
Amongst the petal and the thorn
So she just keeps him, with her sisters, Ivy and Mistletoe
And their kisses carve the names on the gravestones
